How To Fill Out Independent Contractor Forms

It becomes a common practice nowadays to work independently. Working part-time to many jobs a day is a wise choice to support the family's needs. What is an independent contractor? Any person works for themselves, self-employed by doing works for others. Few companies hire this kind of workers because they have less expenditure on tax, disability and compensation. However the worker does not receive health benefits, vacation pay and etc.



If you like to hire independent contractor to work for you, I have simple steps below how to fill up the forms or get the legal document done upon hiring.



1. Enter the full name and address of the Client (the company) and the independent contractor is the person who will provide the services.



2. Specific description of the client and the independent contractor whether an individual, sole proprietorship, partnership or a company. Both descriptions must be stated clearly.



3. Specific terms of the agreement. In this portion it will state the completion date or termination date of the contract as prior the completion of the job. In case of early completion the client must specify whether the independent contractor will be given special bonuses. Prior to early completion the company needs to execute the termination of contract.



4. Job description. This will state the job description and the work to be done. For example, to repair a computer or download necessary program to the company's system. Account auditing and financial reports. And even simple task of repairing portion of the company building.



5. Salary or compensation. This will state the fee's for the work job done. Both must agree the charging of the services such as hourly, weekly or monthly paid. But for convenient to both parties the company usually put the amount offered to complete the job.



6. Expenses and equipment. This will state whether the client will provide the equipment and shoulder the expenses or it is by the contractor. The expenses and equipment to be use must be stated clearly on the contract to avoid discretion upon completion of the job.



7. Trade Secrecy. The contractor must promise and comply that the secrecy of the company's trade will be observed. The contractor will promise to keep the secrecy in written for the benefit of the company as proof that the contractor will keep the secrecy.



8. Lawyer's fee. The independent contractor will recover or can claim any damages if the company failed to comply their part and that includes the lawyer's fee.



9. Location of project. This will state the location of the project or work to be done. Whether inside the company premises or outside for sub-contract works.



10. Signature of both parties. Affixing both signatures will denote the legality of the contract made between the client and the independent contractor.
